Booking and Rental Terms

Renting with Ayvalık Rent a Car is short and transparent. Below are the booking steps, the documents you need and the handover conditions.

Booking steps

  1. Tell us the dates, the delivery point and the car class.
  2. We confirm the price and availability on the phone.
  3. Share your name, licence details and, if you are flying in, your flight number.
  4. Sign the agreement at the delivery point and collect the car.

Driver requirements

  • Economy class: at least 21 years old, licence held at least two years.
  • Upper class and light commercial: at least 25 years old, licence held at least three years.
  • Additional drivers must meet the same conditions and be named in the agreement.

Required documents

  • Valid driving licence
  • ID or passport
  • A credit card in the renter's name
  • Passport and international driving permit for visitors from abroad

Payment and deposit

We accept credit card and cash, with instalments available on credit cards. The deposit is held as a pre-authorisation and released once the car is returned without issue.

Insurance

All cars carry compulsory traffic insurance and comprehensive cover. You can add tyre, glass and headlight cover or zero-excess cover. Driving under the influence, driving without a licence and use by anyone not named in the agreement fall outside the insurance.

Mileage and fuel

Daily rentals carry a daily mileage allowance; weekly and monthly rentals can be taken with unlimited mileage. The car is returned at the fuel level it was handed over.

Collection and return

Times are set out in the agreement. Delays of up to two hours are tolerated; beyond that a further day is charged. At the airport, a delayed flight does not count as a late return.

Cancellation

Cancellations made up to 24 hours before collection are free of charge.

Fines and tolls

Traffic fines, bridge and motorway tolls incurred during the rental are the renter's responsibility and are collected on return.

Taking the car abroad or onto a ferry

Both require written permission in advance.
